Denis Mulcahy
Denis Mulcahy (Irish: Donncha Ó Maolcatha), born 15 August 1956 in Midleton, County Cork, is a former Irish hurler. Nicknamed Muller, he worked in a distillery and was 6 feet tall. He played as a right corner-back for Cork and for his club Midleton.
Mulcahy’s club career with Midleton lasted from 1974 to 1993. He won four Cork county championships, two Munster club titles, and the All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship in 1988.
At inter-county level, Mulcahy joined Cork’s senior team in the 1980-81 season and played until 1992, making 24 championship appearances. He won two All-Ireland senior medals (1984, 1986), four Munster medals (1984, 1985, 1986, 1992), and one National Hurling League medal (1980-81). He captained Cork in 1988 and earned an All-Star that year. He also collected an All-Ireland Junior Football Championship medal with Cork in 1984. Mulcahy retired after the 1992 season.
