David Gust (born February 21, 1994) is an American professional ice hockey winger who is currently a free agent. He last played for the Rockford IceHogs in the AHL, while under contract to the Chicago Blackhawks of the NHL.

Gust grew up in Orland Park, Illinois, started skating at age four, and went to Marist High School. He played youth hockey for the Chicago Fury in the T1EHL. In the USHL, he played for the Fargo Force, joining the league in 2011 after being drafted 99th overall. He made his USHL debut in November 2011, scored his first goal that month, and finished his first season with 14 goals and 16 assists in 43 games. In his second season, he had 21 goals and 28 assists in 64 games, helping Fargo reach the Clark Cup Final.

Gust played college hockey at Ohio State University from 2013 to 2017. He earned Academic All-Big Ten honors and served as an alternate captain in his senior year. After graduating, he signed with the Bakersfield Condors of the AHL in 2017 and made his pro debut with two goals. He finished that season with 13 goals and 11 assists in 53 games, leading Bakersfield in rookie scoring. He stayed with the Condors for 2018–19, then joined the Charlotte Checkers in 2019–20, posting 11 goals and 20 assists in 60 games.

In 2020, Gust signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Carolina Hurricanes and split time with their AHL affiliate, the Chicago Wolves, recording 2 goals and 2 assists in 16 games. He re-signed with the Wolves for 2021–22. In 2022, he signed with the Rockford IceHogs, where he scored 50 points in 51 games in the 2022–23 season. His strong play earned him a two-year, two-way contract with the Blackhawks and a February 2023 recall to the NHL. He made his NHL debut on February 25, 2023, and scored his first NHL goal on his first shift in a 4–3 win over the San Jose Sharks.

Off the ice, Gust married Lexi in 2021. He was an AHL All-Star in 2023 and won the AHL accuracy shooting championship that year. He majored in Consumer and Family Financial Services at Ohio State.
