Daryl Laub (April 12, 1925 – August 28, 2015) was an American TV and radio personality in the Twin Cities. From the 1950s until he retired in 1993, he worked at several stations and created popular children's show characters, including J. P. Patches.

In 1953 he joined WTCN Channel 11 (now KARE). He first played Skipper Daryl, then introduced J. P. Patches. He performed as Patches for about two years before KSTP-TV hired him away.

Chris Wedes later took over Patches in Seattle. The Patches character also inspired a similar Portland show, Rusty Nails.

At KSTP, Laub changed his on-screen clown to T. N. Tatters and his nautical character to Captain Daryl. He hosted both shows back-to-back and had to change costumes quickly each day. Captain Daryl and J. P. Patches were among the first costumed kids’ show hosts in Minneapolis–St. Paul and were early color broadcasts.

After TV, he moved to KSTP’s radio division and then spent nearly 30 years at KQRS-FM (ABC Radio) in sales, eventually becoming the station manager.

In 2003 the Pavek Museum of Broadcasting inducted him into its Hall of Fame for his contributions to the region.
