Darren Robert Anderton (born 3 March 1972) is a former English footballer and current pundit. A winger and attacking midfielder, he began his professional career with Portsmouth before becoming a long-time star at Tottenham Hotspur from 1992 to 2004. For Spurs he made 299 league appearances and scored 34 goals, winning the League Cup in 1999 and reaching the final again in 2002. He later played for Birmingham City, Wolverhampton Wanderers and AFC Bournemouth, finishing his playing career in December 2008 after scoring a late winner in his final game for Bournemouth.

Internationally, Anderton earned 30 England caps and scored 7 goals between 1994 and 2001. He played in Euro 1996 and the 1998 World Cup, where he scored in the group stage. Known for immense potential but often hampered by injuries, he earned the nickname "Sicknote." Since retiring, Anderton has worked as a pundit, including for Canada’s TSN. He was born in Southampton and spent his early years with Itchen Saints and Portsmouth before rising to fame with Spurs.
