Darrell Babidge

Darrell Babidge is an English operatic baritone and a professor at The Juilliard School. He teaches there with colleagues like William Burden, Amy Burton, Kevin Short, Elizabeth Bishop, and Cynthia Hoffmann. He earned a degree from the Royal Northern College of Music, a master's from Brigham Young University, and a professional degree in vocal performance from the Manhattan School of Music. Babidge has performed with the Chattanooga Symphony and Opera, Intermountain Opera, and the Utah Festival Opera. He also sang with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir in their production The Redeemer. In November 2005, he played Joseph Smith in BYU’s performance of Murray Boren’s The Book of Gold. His students include Rachel Willis-Sørensen and Ginger Costa-Jackson. He is married to Jennifer Welch-Babidge.
