1976 Mid Suffolk District Council election

The 1976 election was held on 6 May 1976 to elect all 40 seats on the Mid Suffolk District Council in Suffolk, England. It took place on the same day as other local elections.

Results
- Independent: 19 seats (+5); 6,597 votes; 29.4%
- Conservative: 13 seats (+7); 4,660 votes; 20.7%
- Labour: 6 seats (+3); 7,798 votes; 34.7%
- Liberal: 2 seats (+1); 3,418 votes; 15.2%

Total seats: 40; majority needed: 21.

Outcome
No party won an overall majority. The Independents remained the largest group with 19 seats, but the council stayed under no overall control. Before the election the council was controlled by Independents; after the election there was no overall control.
