Daniel Way
Daniel Way (born December 27, 1974 in West Branch, Michigan) is an American comic book writer known for Marvel series like Wolverine: Origins and Deadpool, and for the Deadpool video game.
He won the Xeric Grant in 2000 for Violent Lifestyle, which helped him connect with Marvel editor Axel Alonso and led to a Deathlok mini-series that was canceled before publication. His first Marvel work appeared in Spider-Man's Tangled Web, followed by Gun Theory (a mini-series with Jon Proctor under Epic Comics) that ended early.
Way later wrote for many Marvel titles, including Wolverine, Agent X, Venom, Sabretooth: Open Season, Bullseye: Greatest Hits, Ghost Rider, The Incredible Hulk, Supreme Power: Nighthawk, and Wolverine: Origins. After Deadpool briefly appeared in Wolverine: Origins, he launched a new ongoing Deadpool series with Paco Medina; Carlo Barberi joined after the Secret Invasion arc, and the Dark Reign tie-ins "How Low Can You Go?" and the four-issue crossover "Magnum Opus" with Thunderbolts followed. He also wrote the Deadpool video game (2013) for High Moon Studios and Activision, the same year Marvel NOW! launched a new Thunderbolts series.
