The Curragh Cup is a Group 2 flat horse race in Ireland for thoroughbreds aged three years and up. It’s run at the Curragh Racecourse in County Kildare over 1 mile 6 furlongs (2,816 metres) on turf, on a right-handed track. The race takes place each year in late June or early July and is part of the Curragh’s three-day Irish Derby Festival, held on the first day.

The event began in 1987. It started as a Listed race, was promoted to Group 3 in 1994, and upgraded to Group 2 in 2016. The prize money is €120,000 (winner’s share about €70,800 in 2022). Weights are: 3-year-olds carry 8st 10lb; 4-year-olds and older carry 9st 11lb, with 3lb allowances for fillies and mares. There is a 3lb penalty for certain Group 1 winners at 11 furlongs or longer since 1 November last year. Notable past winners include Almaarad, Vintage Crop, Daliapour, Kastoria, Septimus, Red Cadeaux and Rekindling.
