Cumbria Institute of the Arts
Cumbria Institute of the Arts was a specialist art and design college in Carlisle, Cumbria, England, located on Brampton Road. It began in 1822 as the Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts, became Carlisle College of Art in 1950, and was renamed Cumbria Institute of the Arts in 2001. In 2007 it merged with St Martin's College to form the University of Cumbria, and the institute became the university's Faculty of Arts.
