Nearby history and development:
- The stop is near the former Melvale station of the Northern Central Railway, a Pennsylvania Railroad affiliate.
- In 2012, a mixed-use transit-oriented development was proposed for 2001 West Cold Spring Lane. In 2016, the Baltimore Development Corporation bought a 16-acre parcel in the area.
- In spring 2020, the 284-unit The Woodberry apartment building was completed next to the station. The development aims to take advantage of nearby transit and the Jones Falls Trail, but has faced criticism about limited access to the station and naming confusion with the nearby Woodberry station.
