Clifton City, Missouri
Clifton City is an unincorporated community in southwestern Cooper County, Missouri, United States. It lies along Missouri Route 135 and Route BB, about five miles north of Otterville and ten miles northeast of Sedalia. The Lamine River runs about half a mile to the east, and the Cooper–Pettis county line is about three-quarters of a mile west. The Katy Trail State Park passes along the south edge of Clifton City. It was first settled in the early 1830s and was originally called Cranmer's Mill. A post office named Clifton City operated from 1873 to 1959. The name most likely honors Clifton R.
