Dime (Beth song)
"Dime" (Tell me) is a song by Spanish singer Beth (Elisabeth Rodergas). It was written by Amaya Martínez with music by Jesús María Pérez for the album Otra realidad. The single was released on 13 April 2003 and blends Latin pop and dance-pop.
The song was Spain’s entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2003. It won Spain’s national final, held in February 2003 as part of Operación Triunfo, with Beth performing the winning song. The final version appeared on the album and was released on 13 April 2003 (the album Otra realidad came out on 23 April 2003). The music video was filmed in Barcelona, using Modernisme landmarks by Antoni Gaudí.
Eurovision 2003 took place on 24 May in Riga. Beth performed 12th and finished in 8th place with 81 points. Spain’s next entry in 2004 was “Para llenarme de ti” by Ramón. “Dime” won the Marcel Bezençon Fan Award.
Beth later stopped performing the song for about twenty years, but sang it publicly again on 25 March 2023 for its 20th anniversary at the BCN Eurovisión Party in Barcelona. RTVE Play released a documentary on 9 May 2023 titled Dime. Historia de una canción.
The song has been covered in other languages: Finnish by Eini as "Kerro mulle," Russian by Varvara as "Veter i zvezda," and Hebrew by Maya Buskila as "בלעדיך."
