City of the Rising Sun (Korean: 태양은 없다) is a 1999 South Korean drama film directed by Kim Sung-su. It stars Jung Woo-sung as Do-chul and Lee Jung-jae as Hong-ki.

Plot
Do-chul is a young boxer who has to quit after a series of losses. He then takes a job at a debt-collection agency and meets Hong-ki, a slick con artist who loves gambling and dreaming of luck. The two become friends and try to make a living, but Hong-ki’s scams cause trouble and Do-chul starts to doubt him. After losing everything, they reconnect and cling to a glimmer of hope as they watch the rising sun.
