Cincinnati Hill
Cincinnati Hill is a hill in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and is part of the Osage Hills. It gets its name from Cincinnati Avenue (also known as North 4th West Avenue), which runs through the hill.
The area has several Strava cycling segments, most of which are categorized as Category 4 climbs.
Streetcars once ran up Cincinnati Hill. Until 1913, the Tulsa Street Railway Company operated them there, but the city decided the hill was too dangerous for the equipment of that time. The stretch of Cincinnati Avenue between Second and Third Streets has a slope of about 6.33%. In wet conditions, the cars often slid down the hill, and a sharp bend at Second Street made it especially risky. Local residents petitioned the Oklahoma Corporation Commission to reinstate streetcar service, but the request was denied.
