Christian Martin Hennig (born 1966) is a German statistician who specializes in robust cluster analysis. He earned his PhD in 1997 from the University of Hamburg, with a thesis on data analysis using models for clusterwise linear regression, supervised by Konrad Behnen. From 2001 to 2003 he was a fixed-term postdoctoral lecturer at ETH Zürich. He joined University College London as a lecturer in the Department of Statistical Science in 2005 and was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2010. In 2019 he became a full Professor at the University of Bologna, in the Department of Statistical Sciences "Paolo Fortunati". As of 2023 he is editor-in-chief of the journal Statistica. Hennig has published around 130 papers in journals and conference proceedings. He also co-authored a Handbook of Cluster Analysis with M. Meila, F. Murtagh, and R. Rocci.
