Chris Haze, born Christopher Francis Hayes on 21 June 1990, is an Irish singer-songwriter, musician and producer from Galway. He started playing guitar in 2010 and soon began writing and releasing his own songs. He grew up in Ballinfolye, Galway, spent years in Westport, Mayo, and returned to Galway for secondary school before leaving at 16.

His first song, World Outside, was recorded in 2012 with English artist Lexeeeee and posted online, earning positive feedback and helping him pursue music. He toured Ireland with The Original Rudeboys and supported acts like Coolio.

In 2014 he entered the Guinness Amplify series to spotlight new Irish singer-songwriters. He released the single Don’t Wanna Fall Asleep in 2015, followed by the Thoughts to Words EP.

2016 brought the singles Let Us Be Heroes and I’ll Run, which received airplay in Ireland, the UK and beyond. In 2017 he released the We Are One EP, which performed well on Irish charts.

Later that year his single Say Goodbye topped the Irish singer-songwriter chart and reached the national singles charts. In 2018 he released the Recipe EP, which also did well in Ireland.

After a North American tour in late 2018, he released the Chasing Rivers EP in 2019, led by the title track; the EP spent several weeks in the Irish Top 10.

In 2019 he started his own independent label, Remody Records. A TikTok surge in 2021 helped him gain a new fanbase and led to the release of his debut album Streets In My Mind. He issued the single WDGAF and also released an adaptation of Frankie Goes to Hollywood’s The Power of Love. He is a voting member of the Recording Academy.
