Christchurch School is a private, coeducational boarding and day school in Christchurch, Virginia. It was founded in 1921 by the Episcopal Church Diocese of Virginia and serves about 225 students in grades 9-12 (roughly 45% are day students).

The 125-acre waterfront campus sits on the Rappahannock River near Urbanna, Virginia, close to the Chesapeake Bay. The campus is listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2025. Christchurch offers a college-preparatory program and a Learning Skills Program for students with diagnosed learning differences. More than 75% of the faculty live on campus and often serve as coaches, advisors, and dorm parents.

Admission is based on an application, recommendations, questionnaires, transcripts, and a personal interview. The school is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools, the National Association of Episcopal Schools, and the Virginia Association of Independent Schools.

A hands-on curriculum invites students to explore “Great Journeys Begin at the River.” The Rappahannock River and Chesapeake Bay watershed provide a living classroom for marine science and outdoor activities, including sailing, crew, research projects, class trips, and leadership development.

The school has its own sailing fleet, an on-site boathouse, and a dedicated sailing venue. The sailing team competes in the Virginia Interscholastic Sailing Association (VISA) within the Mid-Atlantic Scholastic Sailing Association district. The team is nationally ranked and has won several championships over the years.

Christchurch offers athletics such as girls’ soccer, softball, girls’ basketball, volleyball, and baseball.
