Sagat: The Documentary (stylized SAGAT: The Documentary, SAGAT - Uncut; in French: Sagat: le documentaire) is a 2011 French documentary about porn star and gay icon François Sagat. Directed by Pascal Roche and Jérôme M. De Oliveira, it was produced by ADL TV and Brenda & Lucy Co. The 80-minute film premiered on Canal+ in France on March 1, 2011, and had its United States premiere at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York on November 18, 2011. It has been shown at gay and documentary film festivals.

The documentary offers a behind-the-scenes look at Sagat’s career and his impact on world culture, with footage from Cognac, Paris, and San Francisco. It features testimonials from industry figures, including Chi Chi LaRue, who compares Sagat to Madonna, and Bruce LaBruce, who calls him “the Marilyn Monroe of gay porn.” Sagat speaks openly about his fears and moments of fragility, even suggesting he might retire from porn.

Critics responded positively; the French gay magazine Têtu described the film as sexy and moving, highlighting Sagat’s sensitivity and depth.
