Heather Pressdee
Heather Irene Pressdee, born August 28, 1982, is an American registered nurse who was convicted of serial killings. She is serving three consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole, plus an additional 380 to 760 years in prison.
From 2022 to 2023 in Western Pennsylvania, investigators connected her to the deaths of up to 17 patients. Pressdee admitted to murdering three patients by giving them lethal doses of insulin and to 19 counts of attempted murder. She was arrested on May 25, 2023.
The three murder victims she pleaded guilty to were James Bartoe, Gerald Shrum, and Nicholas Cymbol. She has said she believed she was trying to end the suffering of others.
Pressdee was sentenced on May 2, 2024, to three consecutive life terms and the extra years mentioned above. She is currently incarcerated at SCI Muncy.
Background: She is the daughter of Michael and Bonita Pressdee and the oldest of two children. She attended the Community College of Allegheny County in 2003–2004 but did not graduate, later working as a veterinary technician before earning a nursing degree.
