Seothyra perelegans is a species of spider in the family Eresidae that is found only in South Africa. It has been recorded in two provinces, Eastern Cape and Free State, in places like Willowmore and Bothaville. The spider lives in grassland and Nama Karoo areas at elevations from about 815 to 1,291 meters above sea level. It builds silk-lined burrow retreat webs, and the males wander to find mates. So far, only the male of this species is known; no female has been described yet. Because of its limited distribution and some taxonomic questions, it is listed as Data Deficient. More sampling is needed to find females and to better determine its range. The species was first described by Eugène Simon in 1906 from Bothaville and was revised by Dippenaar-Schoeman in 1991.
