Markhamia stipulata is a plant in the Bignoniaceae family native to South China and Southeast Asia. The tree is usually tall, growing about 5–15 meters high, and it often appears in open, sparsely treed areas like fields. Its flowers are pale yellow to reddish brown.

Conservation status: Least Concern (IUCN 3.1).

Taxonomy: Binomial name Markhamia stipulata (Wall.) Seem.; it has several synonyms, including Bignonia stipulata, Dolichandrone stipulata, and Spathodea stipulata.

Names: In Thai it is known as khae hua mu or khae pa; in Chinese it is 西南猫尾木 (xīnán māo wěi mù).

Uses: The flowers are edible and used in Lao and Thai cuisine, often sautéed or added to kaeng som. The leaves are used in traditional Thai medicine.
