Child sexual abuse prevention programmes

Child sexual abuse prevention programs are designed to lower the chances of abuse. They can be given to children, people who work with children, potential abusers, or places where abuse could happen. The most common type is programs for children. School-based prevention programs started in the United States in the 1970s. They teach kids to recognize abusers, risky situations, and boundary violations; how to refuse and end inappropriate approaches; and how to report abuse. The goal is to empower children, show that abuse is not the child’s fault, and help them know they have a right to say who can touch them. Some programs also give kids a safe, private space to talk with a teacher about abuse.
