Derrick Schofield (4 February 1928 – 25 August 1999) was an English professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1940s and 1950s. Born in Rochdale, he began his career with his hometown club, Rochdale Hornets, in 1949. He started as a winger but was moved to the second-row on the suggestion of coach Cec Fifield.

Schofield also played for Halifax, Castleford and Dewsbury, with two spells at Rochdale Hornets, totaling about 148 club appearances. He played the second-row in Halifax’s 1954 Challenge Cup campaigns: a 4–4 draw with Warrington at Wembley and the replay at Odsal, which Halifax lost 4–8, in front of large crowds.

On the international stage, Schofield earned England caps in 1952 (vs Wales) and 1953 (vs France) while with Rochdale Hornets, and Great Britain caps in 1955 (vs New Zealand) while with Halifax. He also represented Great Britain in non-Test matches against France between 1952 and 1956.

Derrick Schofield passed away on 25 August 1999, aged 71.
