Child Passenger Safety Week
Child Passenger Safety Week is held in the third week of September as part of Baby Safety Month in the United States. The goal is to keep kids safe in cars by making sure they ride in the right safety seat, that the seat is installed correctly, and that the seat is registered with the manufacturer so families get important safety updates.
The week starts with CPST Appreciation Day and ends with National Seat Check Saturday. During the week, certified child passenger safety technicians, seat manufacturers, and nonprofit and government groups share safety tips, perform seat checks, offer learning opportunities, and work together to reduce preventable injuries and deaths.
