Chesselden Ellis (1808 – May 10, 1854) was an American lawyer and Democratic politician from New York. He was born in New Windsor, Vermont, and graduated from Union College in 1823. After studying law with John Cramer, he became a lawyer in Waterford, New York. He served as District Attorney of Saratoga County. Ellis was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives as a Democrat and served one term from 1843 to 1845. He ran for reelection in 1844 but was not elected, and he returned to practicing law in Waterford. In 1845 he moved to New York City and continued his law practice until his death in 1854. He is buried in Waterford Rural Cemetery.
