Poland’s Ambassador to Ukraine is the head of the Polish Mission in Ukraine and the official representative of Poland’s President and government to Ukraine’s authorities. The ambassador is nominated by the Polish President and confirmed by the Parliamentary Commission of the Foreign Affairs. The ambassador serves at the president’s pleasure and has full diplomatic immunity.

The Polish Embassy is in Kyiv, with Consulates General in Lviv, Odesa, Kharkiv, Lutsk, and Vinnytsia.

Poland was the first country to recognize Ukraine’s independence in 1991. Diplomatic relations were established in 1992. Before independence, Kyiv hosted a Polish Consulate General, and during the Soviet era Ukraine was the Ukrainian SSR.

The current ambassador is Piotr Łukasiewicz, serving as chargé d’affaires since 2024. The post has no fixed term and the ambassador reports to the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
