Chartiers-Houston School District

Chartiers-Houston School District serves the Borough of Houston and Chartiers Township in Washington County, Pennsylvania. It runs Chartiers-Houston Jr/Sr High School (grades 7–12) and Allison Park Elementary School (grades K–6). The district was founded in 1955 and uses the motto “Home of the Buccaneers.” The mascot is the Buccaneers and the colors are maroon and gold. About 1,260 students attend the district (2023–2024) with a student–teacher ratio of roughly 14.4 to 1. Address: 2020 West Pike Street, Houston, PA 15342. The district participates in the WPIAL and PIAA athletic conferences. The president is Shelly Brose and the superintendent is Dr. Gary Peiffer. The district is named after Peter Chartier (1690–1759), who opened a trading post in the area in 1743.
