2011 Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec
The 2011 Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec was the second edition of this one-day World Tour race held in Quebec City, Canada. It took place on 9 September 2011 and covered 201.6 km (125.3 miles). The race was run as 16 laps of a 12.6 km circuit, one lap more than in 2010, finishing on an uphill section on Grand-Allée in Old Québec. It was the 24th event of the 2011 UCI World Tour season.
Omega Pharma–Lotto's Philippe Gilbert won in 5 hours, 3 minutes, 8 seconds, notching his 17th victory of the season. He attacked late, breaking away on the final circuits; only Robert Gesink of Rabobank could stay with him for a time, finishing in the same time as Gilbert. Rigoberto Urán of Team Sky completed the podium, nine seconds behind. Gilbert's win helped him finish the World Tour season as the overall number one rider, as several rivals chose to end their seasons early.
Twenty-two teams took part: all 18 ProTour teams were invited automatically, along with four wildcard teams — Cofidis, FDJ, SpiderTech–C10 and Team Europcar.
