Charleston National Forest
Charleston National Forest began as the Charleston Forest Reserve in Nevada, established by the U.S. Forest Service on November 5, 1906, with 149,165 acres. It became a National Forest on March 4, 1907. On July 1, 1908, it was merged into Moapa National Forest and the Charleston name was retired. Today, the land is part of Toiyabe National Forest, and parts of it are within the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area.
