Charles Gilbert Gates (May 26, 1876 – October 29, 1913) was a businessman from Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was the son of John Warne Gates, the barbed-wire industrialist known as "Bet-a-Million" Gates. In July 1913 he traveled from Minneapolis to New York City to take his seat on the New York Stock Exchange. He died in his sleep in Cody, Wyoming, later that year. After his death, his Minneapolis home was completed and is credited as the first house in the United States to have air conditioning installed, in 1914.
