Charles Emeny
Charles Emeny (1846–1924) was an English photographer and postcard publisher based in Felixstowe, Suffolk, from the late 19th century. He was born in Wickham Market, the eldest child of James Emeny and Harriet Vince. The family moved to Walton, now part of Felixstowe, where Charles began his photography business. He took his first photograph at 16, and by 1900 he had made about 3,000 pictures. In 1911, his business became Emeny and Sons as his sons William (1875–1935) and Clement (1882–1955) joined as photographers. A 1972 publication, In and Around Victorian Felixstowe, features more than 160 of his photographs, chosen by Charles Corker.
