Champions Mile (VRC), registered as the Cantala Stakes, is a Group 1 Thoroughbred race at Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne, Australia. It was first run in 1881 and Denis Boy won it in 1932. The race is 1,600 metres on turf and is open to three-year-olds and older that are not maidens. It is run as a quality handicap with prize money of A$3,000,000 (since 2022). The race takes place on the Melbourne Cup Carnival’s fourth and final day, now called Champions Day, with Lexus as the sponsor in 2025. In 2016 the race moved to Victoria Derby Day (the first day) and swapped places with the LKS Mackinnon Stakes. In 2022 it returned to the final day and was renamed the VRC Champions Mile to align with Champions Day branding.
