Chambon-sur-Dolore is a small rural commune in central France. It is in the Puy-de-Dôme department, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. The area covers 119.7 square kilometers and sits high in the mountains, between 887 and 1,208 meters above sea level (average about 960 m). As of 2023, about 141 people live there, giving a low population density of around 7 inhabitants per square kilometer. The mayor for 2020–2026 is Jean-Pierre Genestier. The postal code is 63980 and the INSEE code is 63076. The name means “Chambon on Dolore” in French; in Occitan it is Vès Chambon de Dolòra.
