Roger Dobkowitz
Roger Kurt Dobkowitz, born July 30, 1945, in San Francisco, California, is an American television producer best known for his 36-year run on the CBS game show The Price Is Right. He also worked on Family Feud, Double Dare, Now You See It, and Match Game. Dobkowitz graduated from San Francisco State University in 1972 with a thesis titled A Historical Study of Prime-Time Network Audience Participation Shows 1948–1968.
He joined The Price Is Right on its 1972 debut and became a producer in 1984. He created eighteen pricing games for the show, including Gas Money, and won five Emmy Awards for his work. Dobkowitz left The Price Is Right in July 2008 after the 36th season; reports differed on whether his exit was voluntary, but he says he was terminated, with some speculation that host Drew Carey influenced the decision after discussions with CBS.
He is married to Valerie Dobkowitz since 1976 and they have three children.
