Centre for Applied Cryptographic Research (CACR) is a collaborative group at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada, made up of industry partners, professors, and students who study cryptography. Its goals are to advance cryptographic research, educate postgraduate students, host conferences and research visits, and work with industry. The CACR was officially opened on June 19, 1998. Members come from four departments: Combinatorics & Optimization, Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Pure Mathematics. There is no single CACR building; it uses resources from these departments. The center participates in many conferences and workshops and includes notable faculty.
