Catch My Smoke
Catch My Smoke is a 1922 American silent Western directed by William Beaudine. It’s based on the novel Shoe-Bar Stratton by Joseph Bushnell Ames and stars Tom Mix, Lillian Rich, and Claude Payton. The story follows Bob Stratton, who returns from France to find his ranch in the hands of others. To uncover the truth, he takes a job there. Mary Thorne runs the ranch, left to her by her father, who was the executor of Bob’s will, and believes Bob was killed in World War I. Tex Lynch, her foreman, knows there’s oil on the land and tries to force a sale. Mary is captured and taken to a deserted mine, but Bob arrives to rescue her. They ride off together, with Bob’s horse Tony seeming to approve of their match. The film’s status is unknown and it may be lost. It was released by Fox Film Corporation on December 31, 1922, and runs about 5 reels.
