Catastrophe is a British comedy-drama about Sharon, an Irish schoolteacher living in London, and Rob, an American advertising executive. After a six‑day fling, Sharon discovers she is pregnant. Rob moves to London and the couple begin a relationship, marry, and later have a son named Frankie and a daughter. The show follows their funny, honest, and sometimes chaotic life as they navigate love, work, money, and parenting.

Created and written by Sharon Horgan and Rob Delaney, Catastrophe stars the two as Sharon and Rob and features Carrie Fisher as Mia, with Ashley Jensen and Mark Bonnar in supporting roles. It blends romantic comedy with slice-of-life and dark humor.

The series aired on Channel 4 from January 19, 2015 to February 12, 2019, totaling four series and 24 episodes, each about 24–28 minutes. It was renewed for a second season in 2015, and for seasons 3 and 4 in 2016. The third season has six episodes and premiered in the UK in 2017; all episodes arrived in the US on Amazon Prime. The fourth and final season began in early 2019.

Awards and nominations include a 2016 BAFTA nomination for Best Female Comedy Performance for Horgan; Horgan and Delaney won the BAFTA TV Award for Best Writer: Comedy; a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Writing; and a Peabody Award nomination. Carrie Fisher’s final TV role as Mia is remembered for the show, with the finale of season 3 dedicated to her following her death in 2016.

Internationally, Catastrophe streamed in the US on Amazon Prime, and aired on ABC in Australia, Shomi in Canada, and SoHo in New Zealand.
