Carminodoris
Carminodoris is a genus of shell-less sea slugs known as dorid nudibranchs. They are marine gastropod mollusks in the family Discodorididae. The genus includes species such as Carminodoris mauritiana (the type species) and Carminodoris grandiflora.

Taxonomic history
- The genus was described by Bergh in the late 19th century and was originally placed in the subfamily Platydorididae, a group within Dorididae.
- In 1934, Alice Pruvot-Fol elevated that subfamily to the status of its own family, Latydorididae.
- In 2002, Valdés gave precedence to the name Discodorididae over Platydorididae.
- Some sources, such as the Sea Slug Forum, classify Carminodoris in the family Dorididae, reflecting differing opinions among scientists about nudibranch taxonomy.
