Carlecotes

Carlecotes is a small village in South Yorkshire, England. It is in the metropolitan borough of Barnsley, within the civil parish of Dunford. The village sits on the eastern edge of the Peak District National Park, about 4 miles west of Penistone and just over 1 mile north of the A628 road.

The local church is St Anne’s, part of the united benefice of Penistone and Thurlstone in the Diocese of Sheffield. It was completed in 1857 as a private chapel for Carlecotes Hall and is a Grade II listed building. Carlecotes Hall, dating from the 17th century, is about 15 yards north of the church and is also Grade II listed.
