Seldon Hunt
Seldon Hunt, born in 1969 in Melbourne, Australia, is an artist who works as a graphic designer, illustrator, documentary filmmaker, photographer, and artist. He moved to New York in 2006 and now lives in Brooklyn. He is best known for his album cover art and posters for rock bands. His photography often shows thick undergrowth with little or no people, giving a romantic, landscape-like feel.
Influenced by Vaughan Oliver and Neville Brody, Hunt’s graphic work is known for its complexity and impact. He has created art for bands such as Neurosis, Earth, Jesu, Isis, Dälek, Mick Harris, Acid Mothers Temple, and the Melvins. His first album cover was for KK Null’s solo album (from Zeni Geva). He has worked with Stephen O’Malley of Sunn O))). His art appears on releases from labels like Southern Lord, Hydrahead, Ipecac, TeePee, and Relapse Records. He wrote an essay in Sunn O)))’s The Grimmrobe Demos booklet.
