Calochortus monanthus is a possibly extinct North American flowering plant in the lily family. It is known as the single-flowered mariposa lily or Shasta River mariposa lily and was found only in northern California. It is presumed extinct, with the species documented only once more than a century ago.

The single known specimen was collected by botanist Edward Lee Greene from a meadow along the Shasta River near Yreka in Siskiyou County, California, in June 1876.

Description: The plant had an unbranched stem and a single upright, bell-shaped flower on a long stalk. The flower had three sepals about 4 cm long and three toothed petals each 4–5 cm long. The petals were pinkish with a dark red spot at each base.

Taxonomy: Kingdom Plantae; order Liliales; family Liliaceae; genus Calochortus; species monanthus. Binomial name Calochortus monanthus, described by Ownbey. Conservation status: Presumed Extinct (NatureServe).
