Callum Howe is an English professional footballer who plays as a defender for York City in the National League. Born on 9 April 1994 in Doncaster, he stands about six feet tall and wears the number 5 shirt for York. Howe is known for his aerial ability and his calm tackling in central defense.

He began his career with Scunthorpe United, turning professional in 2012 but never made a first-team appearance for the Iron. During his time there he went on several loans to non-league clubs, including Bradford Park Avenue, Frickley Athletic (where he earned the 2012-13 Player of the Season award), Gainsborough Trinity (24 games, 2 goals), Gateshead (2 games, 1 goal) and Alfreton Town (13 games, 1 goal).

In 2015 Howe signed with Lincoln City. While with Lincoln he had loan spells at Southport and Eastleigh, and he helped the Imps win the National League title in the 2016-17 season.

In January 2018 he moved to Port Vale, and a few months later joined Harrogate Town. At Harrogate (2018-19) he scored 9 goals in 44 appearances and was named Harrogate’s Players’ Player of the Season.

Howe then joined Solihull Moors in 2019. He made 107 league appearances and earned a place in the National League Team of the Year for 2019-20. He missed time due to injuries in 2020-21 but returned to fitness, extended his contract, and in January 2023 was appointed Solihull captain.

In July 2023 Howe transferred to York City for an undisclosed fee. He quickly became a regular starter and captained York to a memorable run of wins in September 2024. He was named in the National League Team of the Year again for 2024-25. As of May 2025, Howe had made 88 appearances for York, scoring 5 goals.
