CommonFloor is an Indian online real estate portal started in 2007 in Bangalore by Sumit Jain, Lalit Mangal, and Vikas Malpani, who studied computer science at IIT Roorkee and JSSATE. Sumit Jain is the CEO. The company began as an apartment management tool and grew into a platform for property search, apartment management, and vendor management. Its products include CF Groups (apartment community management), CF Retina (virtual reality), and live-in tours, which help neighbors connect and manage their buildings.

CommonFloor is part of Quikr after Quikr announced its acquisition in January 2016. The company has raised four funding rounds from three investors, including about $30 million from Tiger Global and about $10 million from Google Capital. It operates in more than 120 cities across India. The mobile app for property seekers launched in March 2013, and in October 2013 it started the National Consumer Sentiment Index survey.

CommonFloor Groups were created to improve communication among residents and Resident Welfare Associations. The company has made several acquisitions: Flat.to (April 2014) to help students and others find rentals, Bakfy (January 2015). In June 2015, it invested $2.5 million in Flatchat, a roommate-matching app. Quikr announced the acquisition of CommonFloor in January 2016.

As of April 25, 2016, CommonFloor was ranked among India’s top startups by StartupRanking and was listed by Tech in Asia as one of 33 notable startups. The company had about 795 employees as of June 2015. Website: commonfloor.com.
