Cal 3-27 is a small American sailboat designed by William Lapworth and built by Cal Yachts/Jensen Marine from 1983 to 1985. It’s a fiberglass monohull with wood trim, developed from the Cal 2-27, which itself came from the Cal 27. It was also marketed as the Cal 27 Mk III and later just the Cal 27, and is no longer in production.

The boat is about 26.7 feet long overall, with a 23.3-foot waterline and a 9.0-foot beam. It displaces around 5,200 pounds and carries 2,000 pounds of ballast. It has an inboard motor, a fixed fin keel (5.0 feet deep; optional shoal draft of 4.0 feet), and an internally mounted spade rudder. The rig is a masthead sloop with a total sail area of about 336 square feet (mainsail around 154 sq ft and jib/genoa about 182 sq ft). There was an optional taller mast that increases the mainsail luff by about 1.5 feet. The hull speed is roughly 6.5 knots.
