Cabri Geometry
Cabri Geometry is a commercial interactive geometry program from the French company Cabrilog, designed to teach geometry and trigonometry with ease of use in mind. It lets students animate geometric figures and explore relationships between points, lines, and angles, offering a dynamic alternative to blackboard drawings. The software also includes graphing tools to connect geometry with algebra. It runs on Windows and Mac OS X and is available in multiple languages.
The project began in 1985 from research at the Joseph Fourier University in Grenoble and the CNRS, led by Jean-Marie Laborde. In the 1990s, its technology was integrated into Texas Instruments graphing calculators (TI-92, TI-83, TI-84), expanding dynamic geometry to more students. Cabrilog, founded in 2000 by Laborde and Max Marcadet, continued development and commercialization. In 2014, Cabri expanded to Android, iOS, and Windows tablets with Cabri Express, a lightweight version for tablets and classrooms, helping governments and schools adopt digital geometry tools.
