Bullet (1976 film)

Bullet is a 1976 Indian Hindi action-thriller directed and produced by Vijay Anand, written by Suraj Sanim, with music by R. D. Burman and lyrics by Anand Bakshi. It stars Dev Anand, Parveen Babi, Rakesh Roshan, and Kabir Bedi. The film was made to mark Navketan Productions’ 25th anniversary and was the reunion of brothers Dev Anand and Vijay Anand.

The story is inspired by James Hadley Chase’s Just Another Sucker (1961). Durgaprasad, a shady shipping magnate, is chased by Inspector Dharamdev. Dharamdev befriends Sapna, Durgaprasad’s secretary, but is framed for murder after trouble with Durgaprasad’s associates. With help from Inspector Rajesh, he is released and vows to kill Durgaprasad with a special bullet. The arrival of Mala and other twists adds suspense. In the end, Durgaprasad is revealed as the real killer, and Dharamdev shoots him at Bombay Hospital.
