Buffy Chen Yan-fei, born on August 9, 2000, in Taiwan, is a Taiwanese actress known for starring in films and TV shows both in Taiwan and on Netflix. She grew up with an interest in the arts, starting with modern dance and later studying at Hwa Kang Arts School. She attended Chinese Culture University, majoring in advertising design, but paused her studies in 2020 after winning her first acting role.

Chen’s breakout came with The Silent Forest (2020), in which she played Bei Bei, a deaf teenage girl. Her performance earned her Best New Performer at the 57th Golden Horse Awards and Best New Talent at the 23rd Taipei Film Awards. She also appeared in Little Big Women (2020), playing Clementine Yang.

Her subsequent work includes The Pond (2021) as A Ni, Twisted Strings (2022) as Wen, and Wave Makers (2023) on Netflix, where she played Zoe Chao. Wave Makers brought her rising recognition, including the Rising Star of the Year award at the Asia Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards and a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the same event.

In 2024, Chen appeared in the films 18×2 Beyond Youthful Days and The Uniform, and she joined the Netflix series The Victims’ Game for its second season. She lives in Taipei and continues to build her career with new projects, including upcoming roles on Netflix.
