Buck Weaver (American football)

Buck Weaver (Charles Austin Weaver) was an American football player born on November 1, 1905, in Cushman, Arkansas. He attended Jonesboro High School and played college football at the University of Chicago from 1926 to 1929 as a tackle. At 6 feet 4 inches tall and about 235 pounds, he was one of the largest players trying out for a Chicago team and also starred in track there.

In 1930, Weaver played in the NFL as a guard and end for the Chicago Cardinals and the Portsmouth Spartans. He appeared in 10 NFL games, starting 4.

He married Mabel Allene Steele in December 1930. Weaver died on September 11, 1967, in Orange County, Florida, at the age of 61.
