Rosanne Hertzberger is a Dutch microbiologist and politician with the New Social Contract (NSC). She was born on 9 September 1984 in Rotterdam and studied at Delft University of Technology, Leiden University, and the University of Amsterdam. Hertzberger worked as a microbiologist at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and wrote a column for NRC from 2009 to 2023.

In the 2023 general election, she was elected to the Dutch Parliament. Her work focused on higher education, medical ethics, and the nitrogen crisis. She joined the parliamentary inquiry into the COVID-19 response in February 2024. When NSC formed a coalition with the PVV and two other parties, she said she felt uncomfortable about cooperating with the PVV.

Hertzberger proposed policy ideas such as more research into a rise of euthanasia among people under 30 with mental disorders and drafting media guidelines on euthanasia reporting to reduce contagion effects. She also called for an investigation into gender-affirming care.

On 15 November 2024, NSC State Secretary Nora Achahbar resigned after polarizing discussions following Amsterdam attacks. Reports described offensive remarks in a Council of Ministers meeting, with Jurgen Nobel noting that some Islamic youths did not endorse Dutch norms. A cabinet crisis was averted, with no other NSC cabinet members resigning. On 19 November 2024 Hertzberger and Femke Zeedijk announced their resignations from the House of Representatives, saying that statements had been inappropriate and norms of decency had been ignored.

In January 2025, Hertzberger became director of NSC’s think tank.
