British Origami Society is a registered charity in the United Kingdom dedicated to the art of origami. It has about 700 members worldwide. The society publishes a bi-monthly magazine called British Origami and runs a large library with more than 4,000 books and a similar number of magazines, journals and other origami materials.

Its aim is to educate the public about origami and to promote its study and practice in education and as a form of therapy for people who are sick or disabled. The society began on 28 October 1967 at the Russell Hotel in London, evolving from the Origami Portfolio Society, which started in 1965. The first president was Robert Harbin; later presidents included Alfred Bestall, the illustrator of Rupert Bear.

The Society awards the Sydney French Medal to recognize outstanding contributions to origami, with the first recipient being David Brill in 1992.
